From dream to reality

Now that you are part of our family, we invite you to take a look inside our hospital to learn more about how we are working to cure childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases that impact our children.

More than 50 years after saying this prayer, Danny Thomas' dream continues to inspire people to give. Since opening in 1962, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has become a symbol of hope and a second chance at life for the critically ill children of the world. The mission of St. Jude has always been to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. And remarkably, we have been able to increase overall childhood cancer survival rates from less than 20 percent in 1962 to 80 percent overall.

St. Jude has treated children from from across the country and around the world, all of whom are treated without regard to race, religion, creed, or ability to pay. And because of the generous contributions of loyal supporters like you, our Partners In Hope, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.

This is why all of us at St. Jude—from the children and their families, to the doctors and scientists, to countless other dedicated individuals—welcome you to our family.
